2008-09 Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology
Deadline: October 1, 2008 (registration online has been available since May)
Applicants: High school students
This competition recognizes remarkable talent early on, fostering individual growth for high school students who are willing to challenge themselves through science research.

Edison Challenge
Deadline: October 31, 2008 (begins October 8, 2008)
Applicants: Middle- and high- school student-teacher teams in SCE's service territory.
Teams explore science projects focusing on conservation, energy, and the environment.

President's Environmental Youth Awards
Deadline: October 31, 2008
Applicants: K-12 students
The President's Environmental Youth Awards (PEYA) promote awareness of our nation's natural resources and encourage positive community involvement. Since 1971, the President of the United States has joined with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to recognize young Americans for protecting our nation's air, water, land and ecology. Each year the PEYA program honors a wide variety of environmental projects developed by young individuals, school classes, summer camps, public interest groups and youth organizations to promote environmental awareness.
