Jen grew up in Palo Alto, earned her BA in Environmental Studies at UC Santa Cruz, worked as a Girl Scout Leader of six troops in inner city Oakland from 1995-1998 and moved to the desert in 2000 with her daughter Sky. She loved working for the Palm Springs Desert Museum for two years, bringing lessons about desert ecology into the public schools and leading interpretive nature hikes for adults. Jen finds much of her inspiration in the natural world and continually seeks creative new ways of using gardening, nature journaling, music, dance, visual art, multimedia and computer technology to bring about environmental literacy. The study of classical Ashtanga (eight-limbed) Yoga as a way of life will be her life-long practice. Currently, Jen is enjoying the pleasure of teaching five yoga classes at the Urban Yoga Center in Palm Springs.
