The Reunion at Diamond Valley Lake was a huge success! Students participated in a nature hike, led by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and did team building games with the naturalists from Boojum Institute in the morning. Lunch was staged in the courtyard of the Visitor's Center at which the students had choices of foods for all tastes. In the afternoon, teams of students had their time to shine! All participating teams presented their projects, which included recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans, native gardens creation, convincing a school district to recycle lunch boxes, presenting recycling awareness assemblies, restoring a local native habitat, creating an Earth Week display of green issues, planting vegetable gardens, providing resources for a school in Africa, supplying the entire campus with recycled water mugs, and planting trees on campus. The task of judging the project was overwhelming! All of the projects showed real dedication to environment education, community involvement, and service to the community.
Congratulations to all the students participating!
Thank you to all the wonderful people who made this conference and reunion possible.
