Exemplary Programs in Region 6

calclub:

Calaveras High School Earth Club  The Calaveras High School Earth Club is the most active club on campus, and an example of an exemplary environmental education program in Region 6.  They raise funds by recycling on campus every week, and use that money and community partners to fund many very successful projects.  This includes rewarding local shoppers for using reusable bags, adopting a section of Highway 49 to keep clean, hosting a lightbulb trade-in day at a local store, and conducting daily Earth Week activities on campus.  To find out more about what they are up to and how you can start your own Earth Club, click here:  "Calaverasclub"

flcr: Friends of the Lower Calaveras, a newly formed community group dedicated to restoration of the Calaveras River is looking for teachers and classes interested in doing projects along the river.   For more information, email Conni,   cbock@sjcoe.net
