TEACHER-SCHOOL INFORMATION FORM - GLOBE Program Teacher Training

I would like to attend the GLOBE Teacher Workshop sessions September 15, October 6 & 7, 2001, at Kingsburg High School, Kingsburg CA, and enable my students to join an international network of students and scientists, to learn more about our environment.

I understand that to participate fully in the GLOBE Program, my school will need scientific instruments meeting GLOBE specifications. One-time costs are about $300 for elementary schools, $450 for middle schools, and $500 for high schools. Also, my school will need to provide World Wide Web access to the Internet, which involves use of a computer, a telephone line and access via an Internet Service Provider.

Workshop participants receive the GLOBE Teacher’s Binder and training in measurement procedures, learning activities, and WWW - Internet use. There is no cost for the training or materials, however, GLOBE is not responsible for lodging, or travel expenses to and from GLOBE workshops. There is a $125 registration fee per teacher ($120 ea for two teachers or $110 ea. for three or more teachers from the same school). Morning beverages, snacks and lunch will be provided. Fees cannot be refunded after Sep. 7, cancellation notices must be received prior to that date. Workshop schedules and details will be sent out in early September.
