Current Update on EEI - The Education and the Environment Initiative (EEI)

California Education and the Environment Initiative (EEI) Free Curriculum Units available

The EEI Team is happy to be able to offer (while supplies last) a complimentary classroom set of an EEI Curriculum unit to teachers who receive EEI training. EEI Curriculum trainings take place around the state based on requests we receive from teachers, schools, and districts. Additionally, the EEI Team often partners and conducts trainings with the CREEC Network, non-formal providers, and educational venues, such as the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. You can check out training opportunities on the EEI website at: http://www.calepa.ca.gov/Education/EEI/Training/default.htm . If your teaching team would like to discuss EEI trainings, please contact Teresa Lees, CREEC Coordinator for Region 8 at tlees@slocoe.org.

The EEI Curriculum User’s Guide and additional resources are available online at the EEI training website.

TEACHERS – Are you going to use the new EEI curriculum this school year?
Any teacher who is going to utilize EEI curriculum units needs to fill out a Pre-Survey. This survey asks not only which unit they are going to teach, but also about other green and environmental efforts at the school and in the classroom. It can be accessed directly here: EEI Survey.
Please note that the teacher editions are password protected and you have to fill out the web form on the curriculum unit page first before you can access the teacher’s editions.

EE PROVIDERS - Now is the time to think about linking your program with specific EEI units. As Central Coast and Kern County schools begin to utilize this curriculum we hope to enhance the experience by providing teachers with local connections to outdoor education. Review a PDF catalog of the EEI units to see which ones overlap with the content of your program.
