Audobon Society Potluck

When: Monday, September 19, 2005 at 6:00pm

Where: Monarch Grove Elementary School, 348 Los Osos Valley Rd. in Los Osos.

What: "All You Ever Wanted to Know About Birds & Birding" with Dr. Gary Lindquist, DVM.  He will use slides and drawings to illustrate the different families of birds.  Bring a potluck item. For more information visit their website www.morrocoastaudubon.org

California 4-H WHEP Training

When:   September 23, 24 & 25, 2005
Where:  Camp Ocean Pines, Cambria, CA
What:    This training will introduce the CAL WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program) Concepts and Activities Guide as well as a staging of Project WILD, WILD Aquatic, and Project Learning Tree (PLT) basic trainings to be held concurrently with the WHEP training.  Participants will have an opportunity to network with people from throughout California who are interested in addressing different aspects of natural resources management and establishing a foundation of life skills.
Who:     4-H volunteers, members, parents, staff, teachers, camp education directors, and anyone interested in promoting environmental education, stewardship and/or wildlife management.

Kern River Valley Turkey Vulture Festival

When:   September 24 & 25, 20005
Where:  Audubon-California's Kern River Preserve & South Fork School, Weldon, CA
What:    The Kern River Valley Turkey Vulture Festival celebrates the height of fall Turkey Vulture migration through California's "Valley Wild", the Kern River Valley. One of the two largest known migration sites in North America (north of Mexico).  This year we offer Booths/Exhibits/Children’s Activities at the Kern River Preserve as well as field trips.
