VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: GRAY WHALE RESEARCH FROM SHORE

The American Cetacean Society-Channel Islands is seeking volunteers to participate in a Gray Whales Count (GWC), a census of the northbound gray-whale migration. Volunteers are needed to observe from Coal Oil Point Natural Reserve in Goleta. The Count will proceed daily from January 28 through May 14, 2006. No previous experience is needed. Observer shifts are 2 hours, and we are looking for volunteers who are willing to commit to one shift per week for multiple weeks during the census. To participate, please contact: Michael Smith at grays-n-blues@cox.net

Volunteers needed for the Blue Water Ball

It’s that time of year again!  Our annual benefit, the Blue Water Ball, is fast approaching on March 24, 2006 and we need your help!  Volunteers are needed to help set-up, run the auction, pass food, help with check-in, and clean up.  As you know, we cannot possibly hold a successful event without the help of our volunteers!  If you are interested, please contact Kelly at kelly@sbck.org.
