San Diego Environmental Literacy Action (SanDELA)
Students in Action!
How are your students making a difference to their local environment through action projects?
How do these projects support standards based learning objectives?
How do the action projects affect student learning, self-esteem, sense of responsibility, and other important things?
We need you to share your action project plans with us so they can become part of the San Diego Environmental Literacy Action (SanDELA) Guide- a resource that will be valuable to other educators. Share your Environmental Action Plans so that others can replicate your success.
What are we looking for? We want to document successful projectsthat demonstrate integrating environmental action into K-12 studies in a variety of disciplines. Click here to see a template and short example of an entry. (Adobe .pdf file)
What’s in it for me? If your project is selected to be included in the SanDELA Guide, AND you fulfill the participation requirements (answering follow-up information requests by deadlines), you will receive an honorarium of $500.
How do I submit my action plan?
Click Here to submit your idea online.
If your project is selected to be included in the SanDELA Guide: *We will contact you to determine what additional information we would like to have about your project for publication. This might include a more detailed project plan, ideas for supporting lessons, interviews with students who have participated in the project, documenting your project (if it happens to be “in progress”), samples of student work, etc. *You will also be asked to review the final write up prior to publication.
