Past Event Hilights

NOAA Ocean Explorer's Professional Development

The first workshop in the two workshop series was a great success.  Educators were treated to an awesome training day with Cindy Renkas from NOAA Ocean Explorers.  Hilights of the day included trying out lessons using glow sticks and blue theatrical lighting gels to model color adaptations of deep sea creatures.  Click Here to see a few pictures.

FAQ:

What is CREEC? What is SanDCREEC? CREEC is the California Regional Environmental Education Community. It is a project of the Office of Environmental Education at the California Department of Education. The state of California is divided into numerous CREEC regions. The purpose of CREEC is to serve as a network hub for information related to environmental education. It can be considered a "one stop shop" for environmental education needs ranging from a teacher looking for a great curriculum, to a student looking for an internship. SanDCREEC is the San Diego and Imperial County CREEC region (that's region 9a). Historically the focus has been on the San Diego region, but at this time we are working to form a viable network in Imperial county.
