SanDELASan Diego Environmental Literacy in Action A project funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency to develop a comprehensive K-12 guidebook of class-wide environmental education themes and projects. Interested in sharing and developing resources for environmental action projects? SanDELA is seeking K-12 teachers with an interest in the environment to assist in creating a San Diego Environmental Action guidebook. This guidebook will present a framework for teachers at each grade level to examine a San Diego environmental issue and address it with an action project. At the 1 day workshop you will learn about critical San Diego environmental issues; then use your creativity, experience, and a library of existing resources to outline an action project and point to curricular integrations (you are not expected to create new curriculum in one day!). Qualified applicants will be teaching in a San Diego County school (public or private), and will preferably have experience with environmental education and/or project design.
