Various Teacher Awards through the National Science Teachers Association
Deadline: November 30, 2009 (for most awards)
NSTA and its sponsors recognize and reward exemplary teachers (K-College), principals (middle level and high school), and students (K-12) with cash, trips, workshops, computers, science program materials, and more. These awards offer opportunities to receive professional and personal recognition and to share your school’s science education success stories.


Vernier/NSTA Technology Awards
Deadline: November 30, 2009
Eligibility: K – College Teachers
The Vernier/NSTA Technology Awards promote the innovative use of data-collection technology using a computer, graphing calculator, or other handheld in the science classroom. You are encouraged to apply for one of seven $3,000 awards. A total of seven awards are presented: one award at the elementary level (grades K–5); two awards at the middle level (grades 6–8); three awards at the high school level (grades 9–12); one award at the college level.


Ciba Teaching Awards
Deadline: November 30, 2009
Ciba Specialty Chemicals Exemplary Middle Level and High School Science Teaching Awards recognize teachers who have demonstrated exemplary science teaching in one or more of the following areas: creativity using science teaching materials; design and use of innovative teaching plans and ideas; and development and implementation of department, school, or school-community programs that improve science instruction and/or stimulate interest in science and the learning of science.


Shell Science Teaching Award
Deadline: November 30, 2009
The Shell Oil Company annually recognizes one K-12 science teacher from a public or private school. The award is given to a teacher who has had a positive impact on his or her students, school, and community, through outstanding science teaching. The winner is awarded $10,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the National Science Teachers Association national convention./blockquote>
