Vernier's sponsorship of this award includes $1,000 toward travel to the Professional Development Conference and $500 of Vernier equipment. Siemens We Can Change the World ChallengeDeadline: March 15, 2010The Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge is a K-12 sustainability challenge where a class or group of students, work with a teacher/mentor to identify an environmental issue in their classroom or school community, develop a plan, collect data, analyze that data, and share the results they've found. The maximum award is $5,000. Ages served: elementary and middle schools. Bright Ideas Grants: PG&E Solar Schools ProgramDeadline: March 20, 2010Spring 2010 grant applications are now being accepted that promote environmental stewardship in the following categories: Educational Solar Projects; Youth Energy and Environmental Programs; Renewable energy or Science Related Field Trips; Green Your School Projects; and Professional Development/Service Learning Projects/Workforce Development Programs. Captain Planet Foundation GrantsDeadline: March 31, 2010; June 30, 2010The Captain Planet Foundation provides grants to support hands-on environmental projects. The objective of the Foundation is to encourage innovative programs that empower children and youth around the world to work individually and collectively to solve environmental problems in their neighborhoods and communities. Grant rewards up to $2,500 are available. |
